Pastoral, country, rural, there are so many words that best describe rustic, but the challenge is how best to use such a theme on your wedding day. It has become such a popular trend over the last 2 to 3 years and is set to remain popular amongst happy couples all over the world. So why is this? I guess it’s down to the laid back casual approach. When I have discussed the reasoning for such a theme brides often tell me that they had been a guest in a similar styled wedding and found it such a great experience that they too wanted a similar feel for their own big day. Another reason was because it worked out cost effective, brides were able to produce many DIY projects and save a fortune on things like invitations and table decorations.

Unfortunately for us brides the theme happens to have such a huge scope to tackle and it can sometimes become a little overwhelming, so with that in mind we have dug out the best ideas and approaches to an idealistic rustic wedding to share with you.
DIY Ideas
With the Internet at your fingertips make the use of so many free do-it-yourself tutorials; there are so many step-by-step guides for even the most incapable DIY-ers out there. These days so many tradesmen are giving away their secrets and inspiring many to get creative and hands-on. We think it’s such a great way to cut costs in your wedding and it is guaranteed to give your wedding a personal touch that you wouldn’t achieve otherwise. Get crafty from creating your own bouquets to preparing your own wedding favours.

Location, Location, Location
Make the most of Mother Nature at her best; therefore it’s sometimes just a case of either making the most of where you live or venturing to a long life dream location, such as your childhood holiday destination. Choose from mystic lakes, to quirky farmyards or if you’re lucky enough scenic mountains. All will make fabulous wedding day shots. That you can be certain of!
Rustic Fashion
One of the main looks, which must be achieved with a rustic styled wedding, is the boho look. That very informal, slightly vintage look works wonderfully and looks effortless, but stunning, which isn’t what every bride dreams of? To create the look, think homespun, handmade floral garlands to decorate both the bride and her maids. The groomsmen need to go back in time and sport themselves in stripy suspenders and a dab of lace and hand-sewn labels wouldn’t go a miss.
Detailing
Sometimes it’s best to make a big statement in the tiny details you use, subtle little things that will get guests looking for more clues and quirks that you’ve added into the big way. Sometimes the less obvious the more interesting the style can be. Be different and use felted woodland creatures for cake toppers or mis-matching tableware that looks thrown together. Or perhaps put things out of sight like these gorgeous chandeliers to keep guests on the lookout throughout the day.
Enchantment
One of the biggest themes this year is rustic enchantment; it’s all about mystery and magical allure. Obviously we cannot do unicorns but horses can provide that sense of enchantment and magic. Imagine a fairy-tale dress with a pair of boho boots, dreamlike treats that look light airy and light.
